                      About our branch

                      Column

The Uniacke & District branch was formed February 20, 1984 by fifteen charter members. Since that time, the branch has grown to its present membership of 180 in 2020. Following the purchase of 12 acres of land in Mount Uniacke, Branch 165 officially opened its new building in June of 1989. Following that, four community ball fields were developed on the property, with the opening of the Murphy Sports Complex held in May of 2001.

Branch 165 continues to support the community of Mount Uniacke and surrounding areas by involvement in programs such as Wishgivers, UDS Breakfast Program, Uniacke & District Fire Department, Cobequid Multi-Service Centre, Uniacke Softball Association, the Walter Callow Coach Fund, and many other worthwhile causes.

                      Column

The Ladies Auxiliary was active from 1990 to 1998 and the Junior Legionnaires from 1989 to 1996.

Each year, the Remembrance Day Parade forms at Branch 165 and marches to the cenotaph. Participants include the legion colour party and members, Uniacke & District Fire Department, Girl Guides, the Scouting Association, Sea Cadets, and members of the community.
